The Yak-1000 was
experimental fighter, built in 1951, following Soviet intention to create
supersonic fighter with the rhomboid wing, having maximum speed Mach 1.7 at a
time when the world speed record was barely over the sound barrier. Sadly, its
taxiing trials had shown such dangerous instability that Yakovlev cancelled the
whole project in the end of 1951. Only a single Yak-1000 was built
